Details
Splash Landings Hotel provides superb, up-market accommodation for guests at top UK tourist attraction Alton Towers in Staffordshire. The theme park itself will be closed for maintenance in November, and Alton Towers have therefore offered the resort for this one weekend only to members of British Naturism.
The hotel incorporates the Cariba Creek Waterpark, a restaurant, bars, shop and games arcade. We will have the entire place to ourselves and nudity will be permitted throughout from 6 p.m. on Friday to midday Sunday.
A spa facility is available in the adjoining Alton Towers Hotel and can be booked by guests, but is likely to be a textile environment. However – and no guarantee can be given at this stage – if Splash Landings Hotel becomes fully booked, the Alton Towers management may consider expanding the naturist weekend into the other hotel as well.
The more of us that are there, the better the event will be. It’s going to be another great fun weekend, with plenty of events and activities that we know will be talked about for a long time to come. Tell your non-BN friends that the time has come to join or rejoin British Naturism and enjoy a unique experience. See the feature in this issue for a report of the 2007 event.
Prices
The majority of rooms are family rooms designed for two adults and two children. It is possible for four adults to share a room, but rooms are made up of a double bed and bunk-beds - please bear this in mind when booking.
The cost is £260 per room for the weekend (two nights) based on two people sharing. An extra adult (12 years of age and over) can stay in a room for an additional £55 for the weekend, a child (4–11 years) for £45 for the weekend. Children up to three years old go free. Prices include bed, breakfast, VAT, entry to the Waterpark and all BN events and activities.

Single people sharing service
If you are travelling alone and would be prepared to share with another member or (members) to reduce the cost, please call the BN head office on 01604-620361 and ask to be added to the list. You will be asked for your credit card details and BN membership number. We will then deal direct with Alton Towers to make your booking at the appropriate rate.

Activies Announced!

Hi everyone, things are coming together really well for the naturist event of the year which takes place over the weekend of 14/16 November 2008. Here are some of the activities and events that you can look forward to. We’re working on others and will publish a full timetable as soon as we can. It’s going to be pretty packed, but there is still time for you to make suggestions for other events and activities – let me know.
Since our weekend in 2007, there have been some management changes at the hotel - though the staff working our event will be largely the same - and we had a terrific meeting with the new Head of Conferences and therefore our main contact for 2008. I’m delighted to say she is incredibly enthusiastic, and keen to make this year’s event the best yet and is suggesting all sorts of extras as well as looking into things we’ve asked about, that, given the nature of our weekend, you might think would not be possible. I won’t say any more yet, but watch this space! She did say that everyone at the hotel loves having us there and rates our weekend higher than any of the many other conferences/private events they host. A good indication of that is how they allow staff to say they would prefer not to work a particular event, and apparently no-one has declined the opportunity to work when we are there!
A Wi-fi hotspot is now installed at Splash Landings and they have agreed to allow guests to access it for FREE over the weekend. Details will be provided on check in.
Remember the event runs from 6pm Friday (though you can arrive earlier if you wish) until midday on Sunday – here’s what we’re packing in to that time, so far:

Specific activities for children include:
• Races, games and inflatables session in Cariba Creek
• Arcade games session – air hockey, dance machines etc.
• Kids’ disco probably just before the main one
Remember also that Splash Landings has one of the best waterparks in the UK and that the bar will be open all day and into the night. Best of all, you can be naked in the company of other naturists all weekend…
